Preparing for the $500 5-day challenge

Well I am now 1 or so days out from the beginning of the epic challenge, can I actually make money fast enough to pull in $500 in 5 days on the internet? I say yes I probably can however the proof is in the pudding as they say.

Already for the first day I think I have enough lined up to get me through it, once day 1 is over we are well on the way, and of course if I can do more than 100 in the first day that will make the other days easier.

I will try and treat it like an eight hour work day, but of course I will have to put in more than that if required to meet the goal.

Sometimes it takes a challenge like this to really get you going and encourage you to pull out all stops, as well as think outside the square. I am sure that if you set your mind to it, you could probably make $500 in 5 days on the internet as well.

Unless I can sell some serious amounts of advertising I am going to be doing a heck of a lot of paid posts, and reviews, however that still beats going to work in an office.

Featured Post - Christmas is Coming!

Well I hate to say the dreaded word however yes Christmas is again nearly upon us and when you have kids its certainly a great time for all - if not the bank account.

Many of the things I will be buying this year will be purchased online and this is where it can really pay off to go looking for coupon codes and save some money.

I hope my wife reads this article and spends some time looking at the dell coupons savings as I am in desperate need of some new computer equipment. For the kids of course we will probably be heading to gap coupons as they have some great deals as well.

It took be a long time to really appreciate how much money can be saved with coupons, however now I go searching for them every time!

The Count Down Begins

Well in a couple of days I begin my biggest online money making challenge, and I am really looking forward to it.

Luckily for me I get a day or two's holiday from both blogging, websites and the kids thanks to some great in-laws and a need for a rest.

So never fear, we have not given up, we are not going away, just having a day or two off before the challenge begins, stay tuned as we embark on Monday to find our way to earning $500 in just 5 days. Each day we will by diary show how we do it, which means that you if you are hard working and willing to give it a shot, theoretically you should be able to easily replicate these great methods of making money online fast.

Today I spent most of the day playing on the beach with my kids, and its days like this that make you appreciate the simple things in life, and for me working 40+ hours in a corporate job is just not going to cut it any more, surely if we have a few brains we can stop selling our skills to someone else and being bound to their time frames and rules. Why not work for yourself, and live a fantastic lifestyle from anywhere that you want in the world.

That is the dream, the $500 5 day challenge will help convince myself and my family that it can be a reality!

What do you want to be doing in 1 years time? still bashing away at the same job? If nothing changes in your life then thats what you will be doing, however its your choice.

One Year Anniversary - The $500 5-Day Challenge

Well it has been just over one year since we began this fascinating adventure and we would like to announce that next week, we will be attempting to make $500 in just 5 days.

Now obviously I don't expect to many other people to be able to just drop everything and commit themselves to such a challenge, however if you want to give it a go and see how much you can do in a short period of time, then please let me know and I would be happy to of course add your results and experiences to this site.

I kind have it worked out that I will break the day into 4 $25 dollar segments, earn 25 before morning tea, then another before lunch and do a similar thing in the afternoon. Often when you break big goals into smaller chunks they can be a lot more achievable.

Rules of the $500 dollar challenge

1./ Money can be earned, does not have to actually be paid, so if you do a $15 payperpost that counts as $15 regardless of the fact that you have not yet been paid for it.

2./ The days are Mon 8th, Tues 9th, Wed 10th, Thu 11th, and Friday the 12th of October, you can do separate dates however the days must be consecutive.

Prizes - if enough people are interested in entering I will put up a prize, however the incentive is the motivation to earn some dollars.

I don't mind if anyone else does it or not, mainly I am doing it for myself and will be writing about how I get through each day.

Make Money Fast with Bidvertiser

I have just been experimenting with Bidvertiser on a site I have set up for a colleague and I have to say its not looking to bad.

I will update again once we have driven some traffic to the site and let you know how it is converting, my only concern at the moment is the relevancy of the ads, however I am unsure whether that is because the site has just been set up or if perhaps they do not have many advertisers.

The concept is a little different than adsense, in the way that you choose a category that your site reflects, the ads will be targeted to the category you select rather than the actual content of your site.

Also you can just login and change the templates within the bidvertiser site and it will update to your website, meaning changes to the colours etc are very simple to make.

September Summary for the Make Money Fast Experiment Down Under

Well another month ends and for me I guess you could say a disappointing one in terms of money making. This month the experiment suffered due to me not spending the time on it that I have been in the past. Its true the old saying that you get out of things what you put in and this experiment in making money fast online is no exception.

I haven't done my normal quota of pay per posts and also have not been selling as much advertising as I would have liked. On the positive side a couple of new sites were created which mean long term we are still heading in the right direction.

For October however we have a bit of time off work, and a renewed attitude so will be gunning for a big one. Also I will be creating a new website about coffee addiction so keep your eyes out for that one!

Anyway down to the nitty gritty this month we added $564 to the coffers of the Million Dollar Experiment down under, update graph is below.




Our referring sites have changed a little this month and I would like to congratulate the following five sites that have referred me the most traffic for last month. These are all good sites, and I suggest you check them out.

This coming month I will be experimenting with a program called openads, which actually lets you become an Advertising provider, especially if you have a large number of sites, which is where we are starting to head. With openads you can sell advertising like banner ads, and sell them by month, by amount of clicks or whatever you like. The person buying the advertising also gets an admin console that they can login to to view the statistics of the ads, however I will do a more thorough post in a week or so, still really playing around with it and learning how it all works.
