Summary - Day 5 of the Make Money Fast $500 Challenge

Well it is with a huge sigh of relief that finally the end is reached in what has been an eye opening and very interesting (although tiring) experiment in making money online.

I have been forced to realize that I am not quite at the point where I can make a full time living from this game, however I do think I can make half a living which is a whole lot more than when I started one year ago and made $36 in my first month. Now I can make that before lunchtime, and even more.

I have certainly had some challenges over the last few days, including the DP forums being down for most of today, as well as life and family things not always allowing me the time required to make the most of each day. But when you put things in perspective family and kids etc are so much more important that making money so it really doesn't matter does it.

I think the sheer amount of sponsored posts that I have been doing would soon kill a blog completely and I am very fortunate to have kept most of my subscribers over the last few days, to them I really apologize for all the unrelated reading you must have been sorting through your inboxes. Normally I try and do most of my sponsored posts on my wordpress blog where you can actually filter them from your feed, however on this blog I have not yet found a way to do this, if you know of one please let me know and myself and around 90 other people will be very grateful I am sure.

Anyway although it is tough to admit it, I have to now say that I did not quite reach my target of $500 in 5 days. I came pretty damn close though and here is the breakdown for today's efforts.

Anyway the earnings for today comes to a total of $69.44 (day 5), unfortunately it was another under budget day however I still got a few solid hours in. Alas we didn't quite bring it home ending up with a grand total of $459.79

I have learnt alot over the last few days, and still feel a sense of achievement even though I didn't quite make it to the golden $500 mark. A lot of curve balls have headed my way this week and lets just say in a lot of ways it is a relief to be at the end of it. There is a lot of pressure when you are trying to reach targets that are perhaps just a little out of reach. I really need to build up a better passive base before trying this one again.

Summary - Day 4 of the Make Money Fast $500 Challenge

I thought I had today sorted after scoring a writing gig for a bunch of articles. However guess what they took a lot longer than what I estimated, meaning I got tied up doing those for the majority of the day and they were not enough to put me over the line. Also payperpost has been terrible for me today so that is not helping things.

Well noone said it would be easy, today I am a bit short again, however now only one day left, and I need a big one, serious selling required tommorrow on the DP forums to try and bring in enough dollars.

Now is the time to tell me you want to buy a page on my site or something, lol.

Well my loyal readers thanks for sifting through the sponsored posts! Anyway the earnings for today comes to a total of $72.54 (day 4), unfortunately it was another under budget day however I still got a few solid hours in. Alas we now drop below our budget where the total is standing at $390.35.

Tommorrow it is time to stand up and deliver, can I crack the $500 mark or have I bitten off more than I could chew? How do you think the final day will go - maybe it depends on how much payperpost love we get!

Flat out today

Its pretty easy to see how you could turn this into a full time job, I already have as much work as I can probably almost handle for today and its only day 4 of the experiment. With any new business you would not expect to make money for the first little while and making money online is no exception. Its taken me around a year to get to this point and it has been a year of hard work.

I wouldn't choose to make my money always in this manner ie. so many posts for pay per post companies, however its ok as a small part of the operation I think and to keep funds ticking along. The last few days of course have been an exception to my normal practices in the share quantity that I have needed to do to reach my goal.

Anyway back to work for me, I will write another summary this evening.

Summary - Day 3 of the Make Money Fast $500 Challenge

Today has been another battle, I really have to say I thought it would be easier than this, however I am hoping that I haven't bitten off more than I can chew! Luckily we are now over halfway and still hanging in there.

It seems to be fairly straightforward to make say $50 in a day, however once you have done that all the good opportunities tend to dry up a bit and I seem to spend the rest of the day scratching and scraping to get the rest.

Tommorrow we are really going to have to think of some new ideas to continue to hang in there, however I have just received news that I may have landed a writing job that should help push me over the finish line!

Summary - Day 2 of the Make Money Fast $500 Challenge

Well today has been a bit of a battle with Greg bombarding me with jobs to do for GRIS for some of our combined projects, however I guess either way I am making money, I am not counting GRIS money in this experiment though...

This morning I had a good start to the day earning 10 pounds from money4banners, link is at the bottom of this post. (= $US20-00).

Payperpost was very sparse this am which immediately put me on the back foot, and advertising sales on the DP forums has also been quiet today.

Never one to quit though I now am glad I had such a big day yesterday and have battled through as best I could today, the totals are below...

Summary - Day 1 of the Make Money Fast $500 Challenge

I woke up this morning full of energy and ready to embark upon what can only be described as an online challenge of epic proportions. To make $500 in just five days is something that we have not done in such a constructive manner before.

First out I did a review, then a few sponsored posts and had reached just over $60 by lunchtime.

In the afternoon I moved my concentration to the DP forums where I set about selling some advertising packages on some of my sites. This proved to be fairly lucrative and it was lucky because I had hit a bit of a brick wall with the sponsored articles.

(went out for a Chiropractor appointment in the morning and stopped for lunch for a bit) Even though I achieved the figure early on I thought I would keep going because in this business you never know what the next day will bring.

Tommorrow we embark upon day 2, tired but satisfied right now. Still bitter about the All-Blacks getting an early exit from the Rugby World cup - I have never seen the country in such a state of mourning.

The Challenge Begins

The Challenge began for me this morning, Monday morningin NZ. Flat out now writing posts and also are heading over to the DP forums to see what kind of advertising I can sell.

A FULL update will be done at the end of the day along with each avenue of income reported on. For now I want to leave you with a great vid from Shoemoney where he discusses why it pays not to upset Google, I certainly found it interesting. Let me know what you think.

Preparing for the $500 5-day challenge

Well I am now 1 or so days out from the beginning of the epic challenge, can I actually make money fast enough to pull in $500 in 5 days on the internet? I say yes I probably can however the proof is in the pudding as they say.

Every day after the days earnings are complete I will be summarizing a post of the action for the day. If you want to be part of the action I have a number of sponsorship opportunities available, just send me an email to robstgeorge at gmail dot com and we can talk.

Already for the first day I think I have enough lined up to get me through it, once day 1 is over we are well on the way, and of course if I can do more than 100 in the first day that will make the other days easier.

I will try and treat it like an eight hour work day, but of course I will have to put in more than that if required to meet the goal.

Sometimes it takes a challenge like this to really get you going and encourage you to pull out all stops, as well as think outside the square. I am sure that if you set your mind to it, you could probably make $500 in 5 days on the internet as well.

Unless I can sell some serious amounts of advertising I am going to be doing a heck of a lot of paid posts, and reviews, however that still beats going to work in an office.

One Year Anniversary - The $500 5-Day Challenge

Well it has been just over one year since we began this fascinating adventure and we would like to announce that next week, we will be attempting to make $500 in just 5 days.

Now obviously I don't expect to many other people to be able to just drop everything and commit themselves to such a challenge, however if you want to give it a go and see how much you can do in a short period of time, then please let me know and I would be happy to of course add your results and experiences to this site.

I kind have it worked out that I will break the day into 4 $25 dollar segments, earn 25 before morning tea, then another before lunch and do a similar thing in the afternoon. Often when you break big goals into smaller chunks they can be a lot more achievable.

Rules of the $500 dollar challenge

1./ Money can be earned, does not have to actually be paid, so if you do a $15 payperpost that counts as $15 regardless of the fact that you have not yet been paid for it.

2./ The days are Mon 8th, Tues 9th, Wed 10th, Thu 11th, and Friday the 12th of October, you can do separate dates however the days must be consecutive.

Prizes - if enough people are interested in entering I will put up a prize, however the incentive is the motivation to earn some dollars.

I don't mind if anyone else does it or not, mainly I am doing it for myself and will be writing about how I get through each day.
