Day 18 - The 20 percent Exponential Growth starts today

You may have read my previous article about exponential growth. (if not you can find it here)

Well for me, that starts this month. Last month earnings across the 4 sites that myself and my jobhunters partner run was $36-85, add 20% to that and we now have a budget of $44.20 to achieve this month.

Traffic for websites (unless they come from blog explosions!) appears to be directly related to earnings, so although it varies a little, if you can get 20% more visitors, the earnings should come with it.

Why not Blog explosions? Well when you are surfing blogs, trying to earn credits to get visitors to your site, you would not normally be looking at a blogs adverts, for the simple reason that you are going from blog to blog trying to earn credits.

In an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way, in its own perfect time, for the highest good of all, I intend $1,000,000 to come into my life and into the lives of everyone who holds this intention.

Day 17 - Technorati ranking and Halloween

Happy Halloween! had a great time tonight, taking my Daughter around to a few houses. Unfortunately she didn't have a great understanding of it all because when I asked her to go and knock on one of the doors up the road she said "No daddy, I want to go trick or treating instead" however the promises of chocolate and lollipops soon convinced her that it was a good idea!

My Technorati Rank has slipped a little, although I still have the same number of links, I can only assume that other blogs have pushed their way ahead of me. So please if you are looking to climb the ladder yourself, and would like to help me do the same, lets swap links. Just place a link to my site on yours and leave me a comment saying you have done so. I will then reciprocate.

All is quiet on the income stakes last few days so the money earned in the million dollar experiment down under is unchanged. I joined another website called http://www.clicknwork.com/ however are not really to convinced that I will hear anything from them. This is what they have to say for themselves..

Day 16 and we look at forming multiple income streams

Although primarily a "google shop" with google adsense running on all my 4 websites, I made the decision yesterday to change one of the sites to Adbrite. (Please note the below logo is an affiliate link.)




The site that I chose has been performing quite poorly, so I am only losing a couple of bucks a month from removing the Google adverts. The site in question is http://www.aussiejobhunters.com , I joined up Adbrite, and within 15 minutes or so I had set up a couple of zones on my site, created the javascript and had it live on line. The only complaint I would have is that when you set up a new zone even if you just set one up you need to reenter all the details of your site. (Maybe there could be a copy function that just copied what you had previously entered)

There is an option to display both google and adbrite adverts together however I chose not to take this option as I was not sure google would be to keen on this. Basically I removed all google adverts and replaced them.

It will be interesting to see how adbrite performs on this low traffic site, after one month I will post the results of this little diversification experiment.

Speaking of experiments, the million dollar experiment is still business as usual. we have now made nearly $5 NZ and this has been totally generated from this blog. My sports betting trials will be operation within the next week, and hopefully this will add a few bucks to the results.

I have had no word from Ciao surveys, so not holding my breath there, also I am giving the blog explosions a rest as do not believe that it is a great way to gain readers to the site. Feel a little uncomfortable about forcing people to view the site, would rather they came to it from a search or something along those lines.

Exponential growth with your Website Profits

I was reading about growing blogsites on the problogger site, and have done the following sums based on what is certainly possible...

Lets look at a website, which is earning a small amount of money currently (approximately $30 US Dollars per month.) This is not going to get anyone rich in a hurry, but if you look at a 20 percent increase every month over a period of a couple of years the results will surprise you.

NOTE: These are calculated earnings Per Month, with a 20 percent increase each month.

Month 1 $33-00
Month 6 $82.11
Month 12 $245.19
Month 18 $732.14
Month 24 $2186.16

Looking at a 20 percent growth each month is an achievable goal, so setting your mind to this will end up making you a very reasonable income (should you be able to maintain the increase constantly).

To dig into this a little deeper, if Month 1 amount was $33 the budget for Month 2 is $39.60. Surely a little extra effort on your part can help to produce this small extra amount? And if you make more than that you will get there even faster.

You should be able to mark the date on your calendar when you can quit your day job... if you follow this method of exponential growth. I myself will be quitting on or before the 1st December 2008 !!!

And believe me I cannot wait for that wonderful day.

Day 15 - Do you confuse your friends when you tell them you are a Blogger?

Around at some friends place last night for dinner and watched the Kiwis defeat Great Britain in a Rugby League Match. No bets on this game, for although Kiwis were being well backed to win the game the fact was it would break one of my own rules... betting on a team I support. (It is wise to remove any emotion from sportsbetting).

The Kiwis were paying 1.27 and GB over 4 dollars, this was not a true reflection of the opposition, and GB are a good side, so GB would have actually been a good bet paying that kind of money.

Anyway back to the main subject of this post, while trying to explain to my mate about blogging, google ads and the million dollar experiment, I am sure he thought that I had finally lost the plot! It was clear that he really had no understanding of what I was talking about.

Next time the best course of action may be not to mention it.

Imagine if this was your fulltime job it would be quite strange trying to explain it to people all the time, would probably be easier just saying "I make my living off the internet". Then knowing nods would be exchanged and it would not be mentioned again.

Technorati ranking continues to climb and we are now sitting at 310,244. Remember if you would like to boost your ranking, link to my blog, leave a comment saying you have done so and I will then link to yours. I would like to break into the top 100000 as soon as possible. (And if we can help each other out on the way to this, thats great)

Ciao have not yet sent me any surveys, apparently on the UK site you can also write reviews on products and get paid for that. This does not appear to be an option on the international site that I can see. If anyone knows different please let me know.

Can you make it as a pro-blogger?

Well can you? Lets be realistic, can you blog day after day, night after night for about 2 or 3 years? That's how long it may take to earn a living blogging. And even if you can it needs to be good quality material. You cannot just start a blog site, fill it full of adverts and expect to make a fortune.

If you have the kind of fortitude to make it happen that is well and good, I applaud you and please lets swap links ASAP so I can take advantage of your superhuman efforts!

We all know that despite our best intentions, willpower tends to drop off after 2 to 3 weeks, so not only is it important to continually motivate yourself, just the sheer fact that you can keep going for 4 weeks instead of 2 or 3, will already set you ahead of the competition.

This is why goal setting, although boring is so successful, setting goals and continuing to work towards them until they are achieved is one of the best methods in human history for getting things done.

The million dollar experiment is something that can give you a worthwhile goal, so don't be afraid to join up and share the journey on the path to a better life for all of us.

Day 14 eXlinks... what is it and will it work?

I noticed a post about eXlinks on the Mike's Money Making Mission website and have signed up. This is what I have found out about it... ( I got this info from Sarahintampa )

eXlinks is a social link network. The basis of how it all fits together will become clear when we go Beta, but essentially we are going to go out and build small networks of friends, referrals, bloggers, website owners and basically anyone with an online interest who wants any of the following

i) Readers
ii) visitors
iii) Traffic
iv) better search engine ranking

It certainly sounds good, however who really knows what will happen with this kind of site?

Day 13 and things could not be better!

Day 12 We join a paid survey company Ciao

I noticed one of my like minded Bloggers Martin was using a paid survey company called Ciao and seemed to be making a few bucks out of it on a weekly basis, so I thought in the interests of the experiment it would be a good idea to sign up and see if I could to.

I signed up yesterday and that was relatively simple to do, however there was quite a lot of profile information included in the registration process. Also it was necessary to join Paypal as this is how they pay you.

It looks like they will send a couple of surveys a month and I am not certain how much each one pays yet, however any money is good money at this stage of the game!

When I get a survey a full update of how long it took, money paid and more will be posted so watch this space. There seem to be a lot of scam artists out there in the Paid Survey business so if you are going to consider joining one, I advise you to do your homework carefully.

If anyone has had any sort of success with paid surveys please let me know of any recommendations you may have. There does not seem to be a great number of choices available at this end of the world, alot of them appear to be US and Europe orientated.

Moneywise we cracked the $4 NZ dollar mark today so that was great to see, however we still have a long way to go. (This is revenue directly from this website only to date)

Day 11 The climb continues thanks to YOU!

Thanks to all those that have linked to my Blog, and given me the pleasure of linking back to yours. I am very impressed with the supportive comments that have been left to date and have had a good time visiting many of your Blogs.

Thanks to a few new links this Blogs Technorati Ranking has lifted a couple of hundred thousand places. What a great way to climb a ladder, by simply helping out fellow bloggers also rise the ladder.

Money wise it is only trickling in a few cents a day, however that is a start, once I get to the end of this month my Sports Betting Experiment will begin, the results will be posted on this site as we try and beat the odds.

I must say I am a little concerned about how successful this will be, some of the people I have spoken to think it is a great idea, some think I am crazy. We will give it a go and feed the results straight out into the blogosphere so other gambling hopefuls can learn from my mistakes.

The theory is to bet small amounts on MUST WIN bets where the return is so small that there is little risk of losing. Can someone bet this way and win more than they lose? That is the question I will be looking at answering over the next few weeks.

If anyone has any sports betting advice please share it, any techniques that you have used effectively would be much appreciated. I will not be betting on horses just basic sports teams bets, where one team is well favoured over the other. No emotion will come into it, no bets will be placed on teams that I support.
