October has been a month of two halves, the first half was a mad flurry of money making unparalleled in my time so far, the 5 day challenge where I attempted to make $500 in 5 days was instrumental in making this the top month to date in this experiment, however due to circumstance for the last couple of weeks of the month I was unable to spend a large amount of time making money.

By looking after my dad’s contact lenses online business for a couple of weeks I was also able to pull in some extra internet money.

Traffic

This month Google made some kind of algorithm changed that boosted my traffic considerably. I dont know how or why but I like it. This site had actually dropped for the last couple of months and then suddenly BOOM - off we go again.

This large boost in traffic helped to top off a good month. The increase was approximately 64%.

A flow on effect from this is that I now have over 100 subscribers, welcome to all the new feed readers!

A drop in PR is not something you want when you are making a living from your sites, however we took this one on the chin and I think it was a timely reminder of what is important longterm when it comes to building the profile of a site.

The numbers - how much money was made

This month we added $1278 US dollars to the kitty, which brings our NZ total so far to $6675.89 with only $993,324.11 cents left to go. We have actually made a small dent in our target and should reach $10,000 NZ in a couple of months.
