March Summary To Date - Budget Nearly Achieved Already!

We are now just over halfway through March, I tried to add another Blog to PayPerPost the other week, but noticed that you needed 10 Approved Posts before you could do this. Hence I churned through a few to get things moving along which gave us a great start to the month. Now we are looking to be well over target so can just concentrate on building traffic and "real" posts.

And to date for March here are the numbers

If you missed the last summary all of our sites are now being counted instead of just this one -hence the figures are moving along a bit quicker than normal!

I now have 13 referrals on MyLot aff, the income it is bringing in is quite small, maybe 10 to 20 cents a day. However this is passive income that does not involving covering your blog with adverts!

This month the active income is made of PayPerPost, the passive is MyLot referral income and Advertising e.g AdSense, Banners on sites etc. Passive is what we will be concentrating on for the rest of the month.

120 Days ago we set out on a Money Making Experiment based on Steve Pavlinas Million Dollar Experiment. It has been a blast so far and although we are a long way from our goal I think good progress has been made.

A couple of confirmations that companies do pay up - which is always nice to know. MyLot aff: came through - I have finally earned my first ten dollars after a few months. With MyLot half of that money was earned by myself actively participating in discussions, the other half was from referral income. LoudLaunch have also paid up - great.

A recent sign up with PayPerPost has resulted in a few higher priced sponsored posts, the first one has been approved so now this income will also start to show in the regular summaries on this site.

The Z-List has boosted us up the Technorati ladder, this has been a great example of viral marketing and shows what a bunch of unsung bloggers can achieve in a short amount of time. Just about every time I log in to Technorati now there are more links to my site showing up - thanks to all that have participated.

MyLot Continues to Surprise with Passive Income Potential

Lately I have not paid much attention to what has been happening with MyLot, however when I took a closer look at my earnings I realised that referral income is starting to tick along quite nicely.

There are 3 active referrals that have signed up via our referral link and one of them particularly is going fairly hard on a daily basis. This means that every day we are getting between 30 and 40 cents for doing absolutely nothing at all. (not even covering our site with advertising.)

Of course being an exponential kind of guy I then start thinking what if I had 10 times the referrals, or 100 times.... I am sure you get the picture. Maybe some people out there could be making serious coin out of MyLot.

There is a little website that I run, that caters to parents of small children, many of them would probably be stay at home parents. Thinking that this could be a win win website to refer to this audience I have posted a review of MyLot along with my referral link onto that site. It will be interesting to see how many (if any) end up signing up. It is good to try and reach a different audience sometimes and I can see MyLot being a great little earner for Stay at Home parents. The fact that it could help with our Million Dollar Experiment Down Under is an added bonus of course!

The Bloggers Octet- 8 Proven Methods to get your Blog Earning!

This article assumes that you already have a blog set up and a reasonable amount of regularly updated content within your blogsite. If not you need to set yourself up with a blog site from somewhere like here . Then revisit this article in a couple of months.

Method 1 - Money4Blogs
This site is quick and easy money, just go to the site and register your interest, they will check out your blog and if appropriate make you a very reasonable offer to place a small text link on your site.
Payment: They pay promptly via PayPal aff: which you will need to set up first.

Method 2 - GoogleAdSense
If your site gets a reasonable amount of traffic, it is simple to create a relatively passive income from running GoogleAdsense on your site.
Payment: Once your account has reached $100 US they will send you a check or direct credit the amount into your bank account the following month.

Method 3 - Blogitive
Blogitive offer paid blog posts and it is quite possible to get say 5 - 10 of these posts per month. Certainly a lucrative way to earn extra money from your blog.
Payment: They pay weekly via PayPal aff:

Method 4 - LoudLaunch
LoudLaunch is a brand new site that offers paid blog posts, the prices that you get paid tend to vary a bit more than Blogitive, so far I have seen posts offered for 0,3 or 5 dollars. It depends on your blog so if you have a highly ranked blog, you may of course get offered more. I am not sure how many people would offer to do sponsored posts for no money at all. Certainly not me!
Payment: LoudLaunch pay via PayPal aff:

Method 5 - Blogsvertise
Another site that I have used, I actually received the highest pay per post from this site ($10) however the catch is that you need to wait until they email you with an offer, whereas the previous two payperpost methods let you log-in and as long as there are sponsored posts available you can do them.
Payment: They pay a month after your post has been published via PayPal aff:

Method 6 - MyLot aff:
MyLot is an interesting one, basically it is like a forum discussion site, where you create discussions for other people to join and comment on, as well as comment on discussions that other people have created. You can also upload photos and you get paid, both for getting involved in discussions as well as uploading images.
Although the money paid out is small, you need to think outside the box with this one, money can be earned via referrals and you can also refer related discussions back to your own site, so the opportunity to get extra traffic should not be ignored.
Payment: They pay monthly, if your balance has reached at least $10 via PayPal aff:

Method 7 - Amazon aff:
Amazon offer a number of ways to make money from your site, you can set up an Amazon AStore of your own, or display adverts that you can modify through the Amazon site to suit your blog content. Amazon have been around for years so offer a wide variety of methods to monetize your site.
Payment: Amazon pays by check or gift certificates.

Method 8 - HubPages aff:
Hub Pages lets you write articles (Hubs) and then you will receive %60 of the revenue generated from the advertising displayed upon them. You can associate your Google Adsense Adverts with them, as well as Amazon and Ebay Affiliate ids.
Payment: You will be paid by the Advertisers directly (Google, Amazon, Ebay)

Given the 8 methods above as well as a certain amount of time and effort to dedicate to your Blog you should be able to make a reasonable amount of money online. Depending on the quality of the content of your blog, as well as the time that you are prepared to commit to it you will at worst make a little pocket money, at best you could make a very good living!

The main surprise out of the above is the Money4Blogs site, as they actually paid me to place a link on my site. As I was so impressed with this, I wrote an article about the service that they offer. As a result of my article there is quite a decent sized comment on the Money4Blogs site, pointing to my site and this has sent a large number of visitors through.
As well as this a number of Google searches for "Money4Blogs" find there way to my site.



This is quite a strange turn about when you consider that I am getting traffic from someone who was kind enough to pay me for a link to their site! I sincerely hope that the Money4Blogs team get plenty of visits in return!

It goes to show that if you see value in a product or service, be sure to tell your readers about it, even if there is no apparent incentive. Quality recommendations will result in visits, links and good karma for all!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the sites that have linked through to mine, it is great to see the referrals coming through, and I am sure that this experiment would not even be possible without all of these. myLot begins to show Promise as Referral Income begins to Build

I have been guilty in the past of almost dismissing the income potential of myLot, especially when it takes so much time to earn what appears to be very little income. Lately however my referral income has been ticking along with little or no help from myself. Once you log in and see that your income has gone up by 50 cents and you didn't have to do anything you start wondering.... what if I had 40 referrals instead of 4...

So instead of saying how little money myLot makes, maybe I should start plugging the benefits and try and get more people to sign up! I have to admit that maybe I was a little hasty to say that it was not a great money earner, I will give it a few more months, will continue to post the results on this site. I have heard that everyone gets paid once they reach $10 so it can be a sure way to earn a few extra bucks - why not give it a shot?

60 Day Summary of the Million Dollar Experiment Down Under

Another 10 days passes and the cumulative results are shown below. Our main income earner in the last 10 days has been blogitive, they are certainly proving to be a key part of our experiment, and I would definitely recommend them if you are looking to make a few bucks online.

Although I have spent very little time on myLot it has been noticeable that lately small increases have been made to the total earned even though I have not been actively participating in the site. This is due to a few good conversations that were started as well as a couple of referrals that have been posting a few discussions.

As Christmas and the New Year draw closer it is important to make as much money as possible in the next week or so, as there are bound to be a couple of quiet weeks around this time.

Although progress has been fairly good over the last few weeks, in recent times we have become a little reliant on one main earner. This will never stack up in the harsh reality of making money online. (multiple income streams are essential) so over the next few weeks we will try and find another productive source, we look forward to hearing your helpful suggestions regarding this if you would like to share them.

I read a great article tonight, you can read it here, its an interview with 3 or 4 guys that are making 1000s per month with adsense, and has some excellent advice for all of us wannabes!

Day 46 We Drink Beer for Money, it was tough work but someone has to do it!

Today was one of the defining moments of my life. Today was the day that I got paid to drink beer. Yes you heard it here first, the Million Dollar Experiment Down Under just led me into a market survey centre and I had the pleasure of sampling not one but 5 different kinds of beer!

They then placed an envelope into my hand with actually more money in it than had been promised. ($30 NZ Dollars) It was an almost religious experience and something I would recommend to anyone.

The beer tasting "Drinking Session" involved answering a series of questions about 5 different types of beer, and took under 30 minutes to complete.

The way I stumbled upon this fantastic money earning exercise was through the NZ survey site smilecity and I have to say that I would do it all over again.

Its amazing where the money making opportunities spring from when your mind is open to them, not so long ago I was wondering how I would be able to find a way to earn money online, now I find there are not enough hours in the day to keep up with them all!

I have posted a paragraph on the google group http://groups.google.com/group/free-blogs-4-money and already appear to be getting a bit of traffic from it. Thanks to Mike for another great idea.

Other than that have done a couple more sponsored posts, and have also nearly reached $2-00 in our often painful myLot project.

Day 43 - Sports Betting Crashes in a Steaming Heap

Well once again our bad luck with Sports Betting continued and another upset has finished us off. We have now lost a total of $10 from that little project, so will quit and leave it there.

From my experience it is not easy to make small profits from Sports Betting, and actually quite easy to lose all your money. We give it the big thumbs down.

We made a total of 8 bets on low odds, where one team looked certain to beat the other and ended up losing 3 of them. I had wondered what would happen if you actually bet on the less likely team to win, in this case the high odds may be enough to pull you through on the odd occasion that an upset happens, however this experiment will have to wait until I have a lot more spare money!

Paid blog posts seem to be ticking along nicely at the moment, this appears to be a good little earner however we will need to see how consistently the offers roll in.

I have added to my sidebar along with the money accumulated to date, the actual yearly salary that this represents, we will be looking at raising this significantly over the next few months, be sure to check back regularly to see how it is looking. It will be updated a couple of times a week.

40 Day Summary of the Million Dollar Experiment Down Under

This is a summary of the last 40 days which is the time this Blog has been running. I am hoping to provide value to anyone else looking to make money online as hopefully reading through my site and the Like Minded Blogs that I link to combined supply a wealth of information for anyone wanting or thinking about making Money Online.

I will start with the biggest earner to date and move my way down.

Number 1 Money4Blogs
These guys are amazing, what a great way to get started making money for blogging, you simply go to their site and send them an email, they will check your site out and if ok make you an offer for a simple text link on your site. Remember however this is a one off, and not going to be a passive income as such.

Number 2 Paid Blogging Blogsvertise and Blogitive
So far I have completed 2 posts, one for each site, certainly an interesting way to learn about a new product and earn money at the same time. Not a passive income, however can be counted on for a few bucks every week.

Number 3 Google Adsense
The faithful google adsense, is a passive income, as nothing really needs to be done, just set up the ads on your site and reel in the bucks.

Number 4 Mylot
Mylot is certainly an interesting idea, basically it involves posting to discussions and creating your own discussions online. I am unsure exactly how profitable it could be however. For me it is going to be a mission in itself to make 10 dollars which is the minimum payout. The key is to get a lot of referrals going, then you will get 25% of the income earned by the people you refer to the site. So far I have one referral signed up, if that was you thanks and go and get posting!

Number 5 Sportsbetting
I have never been much of a gambler and my lack of experience is starting to show, I thought by betting on super low odds, that a small profit could be made, but have so far been disappointed. I have made six 5 dollar bets to date, and two of them lost against all odds. Not for the faint hearted however it has been fun anyway, once I have lost a total of ten nz dollars this will be dropped from our portfolio once and for all.

Money Earned to date $NZ -6-60

All up in 40 days we have made a total of $45-59 NZ dollars, and I am happy with that as a start, I am pleasantly surprised at the number of money making opportunities there are out there and I am still only scratching the surface. We have just started with commission junction and will be reporting on this in the weeks to come.

I would not like to count the hours I have spent making this 45 dollars, and prefer to think of it as leisure time spent earning money.

Day 35 - Blogvertise, links, Beer Tasting and More ideas

The last week has certainly been the most productive that I have had to date, with over $25 US dollars earned. Some of this will be repeat, however some of it is one off payments.

We have had our first project from Blogsvertise and these guys appear to deliver as promised.

I belong to a survey site in NZ called smilecity and they sent me an invitation to a beer tasting project in a couple of weeks, normally I probably wouldn't bother but in the interests of the Million Dollar Experiment and a quick 20 bucks I have decided to give it a shot. ( the perfect job... getting paid to drink beer!)

This weekend we look at some new ideas that have been put forward by some of our readers.

http://www.blish.com/ have a site where everything is digital downloads. If you have some software of your own you can sell it there, too.

Commission Junction lets you get a cut as an affiliate http://www.cj.com/

I have not tried these avenues yet, but will look to investigate over the coming week. Please let me know if you have had any experience with them.

Sports Betting this week we have picked the Kangaroos to beat Great Britain in the league. $5 head to head and we will be looking for a profit of 60 cents. (I know GB won last time, however they will not catch the Aussies napping twice in a row)

Our second bet this week was American Football Philadelphia v Tennessee, we have bet $5 on Philadelphia to bring it home and will be looking at at 40 Cent profit on this game.

We continue to persevere on the mylot website and have so far earned 6 cents! A pittance I know however this is probably the only site I have found to date where you can just go and earn money whenever you feel like it.

Day 34 Some new ideas start to evolve

We are now into the second month of the Million Dollar Experiment and the action is starting to heat up. This month along with the Sports Betting and Google Adsense that we are already making money from we are about to kick off with a couple of new ventures.

One is called mylot I noticed this over on Mikes Money Making Mission , basically it is like an online community where you join discussions, make comments on other discussions and supposedly make money. From what I was reading in one of the discussions on the site, you need to be in a fairly poor country that really values US Dollars to make a living out of it. (e.g probably $3 - $5 US a day. But I am happy to make a few comments and see if I can earn a few bucks towards the experiment.

So far I have replied to 2 discussions but don't seem to have earned a cent, if you have used mylot and have any suggestions as to the best ways to make some bucks out of it please let me know!

Also as I joined up via Mikes referral, hopefully he will make money when I do... passive income at its best! Apparently if you refer someone you make 25 % of what they earn.

Here is what someone has posted to assist you to make up to $3-00 a day.... (hey there is no such thing as money for nothing...!!)

Follow these tips and you can earn approximately $3 a day which is what this chick is averaging

1. Respond in posts not comments.
2. Comment back to ALL responses to your discussions.
3. Tag all your responses with AS many words as possible
4. Answer a wide variety of topics.
5. Answer questions with no response (see brain busters)
6. Apply plus ratings to everyone
7. When you reply in posts write a minimum of 4 lines and don't babble, make quality replies.
8. Keep discussions going.
9. Make friends that can help you out.
10. Aim for over 50 posts per day to different discussions to make and maintain at least 10 new topics per day- obviously they wont all take off but that's why you need to post sooo many.

I don't know if I can be bothered, the hourly rate looks to be a little low for my liking, however I will try and make a minimum payment and see how much effort is involved.
