Make Money Fast With Free Stumbles

One great method that I have found for getting a new website launched and ticking over with traffic is by getting it stumbled as many times as you can in a short time frame. (For those of you that don't know what a stumble is, basically it is a thumbs up vote for a website from anyone that has the stumbleupon toolbar installed.

Where to get free stumbles
There are probably many places that you can do this, however one of the most popular and the method that I use is the DP forums freebie section. In this section you just post a thread giving your sites and offer to stumble those sites that stumble yours.

What effect do free stumbles have on traffic?
Well they can have a positively viral traffic effect, depending on the site of course, it does need to be an interesting or useful one!. In the image below you can see how the traffic jumped from next to nothing to over 100 uniques a day on my proxy site unblockshop.com. On the 26th of November I posted this post in the freebie section of the DP forums and it has been smoking along eversince...



The Skinny (Conclusion)
As far as this method of traffic generation is concerned it can at times be short lived, however it is free, it is great for helping to launch a site and sometimes it can even create ongoing traffic, or result in links from other sites that come across your site and think it is worth linking to.

For this particular example less than one hour of my time has taken a site from nothing to a few hundred real visitors in the last few days.. and that is worth doing.

What Effect Does A $7 Traffic Blast Have On Your Site

Feeling our way through cyberspace with our first Proxy Onemorepimp.com has been an interesting experience for Greg and myself and getting traffic to a new site is always challenging.

The current visitors to the site as you will see in the graph below show that things are really just ticking away at the moment with nothing worth writing about in the way of visitors.

Thats why we decided to take a look at what one of the members on DP was offering called a "Proxy traffic Blast" hoping that it would help to launch our proxy site into cyberspace!

I received a message this morning along the lines of "your blast has been sent" so anxiously waited until this evening to both catch up with Greg and check analytics on the site as well as our advertising mediums to see what kind of impact we had received.

Well day 1 of our proxy blast is reassuring, we have earned a couple of bucks and as you can see from the analytics below traffic is heading in the right direction, lets however hope this proxy blast is long and keeps going!



Over the next few days I will continue to demonstrate just how much this $7 traffic blast helps the site, and whether it was worth it or just another meaningless waste of money.

Traffic Increase - This Month

This month is going to be a record traffic month for the Make Money Fast - Million Dollar Experiment Down Under and that appears to be because of some kind of algorithm change during this month that literally doubled my traffic overnight!

What this means is more money, as the more traffic I get the more I earn from affiliate programs and advertising like AdSense.

I was wondering if maybe now that this site is over 1 year old Google has given it a little more loving, maybe they have something in their algorithm which notices that a site has been regularly updated for over 1 year, and then pushes that up the ladder a little, who really knows?

This week I am feeling what it is like to be a solo parent, looking after my little son (20 Months old) while his mother and sister are away in Perth. So far so good, however it is a lot of work being a "Mr Mum" and trying to keep things organized.

Luckily I had my $500 (almost) week the other week, as that kept me on top of things money wise.

Anyway I am interested to know if you have seen any noticeable traffic increases this month? Has Google done you any favors lately?

It's interesting to see how Bloggers can make their sites literally start raining with visitors and it seems to come down to one thing - writing a great article that gets linked to by big name bloggers that get a ton of traffic. Whoops where's our viewbar March 1st

Viewbar release: A few weeks ago, I said on this blog, “The Viewbar is currently slated for a March release”, and March 1st is now upon us (a couple of you were optimistic and hoped for a release on the first of the month). I know that the Viewbar will not be released in the first half of March. Our tech lead flew to Shanghai this morning to work directly with our six engineers there. I’ll give you more of an update when I hear back from him.

I have just got word from our Shanghai based tech team with an update on the Viewbar status. Most of the QA tests are going well with the exception of the ad
servers. The team is currently integrating the Viewbar with the ad servers so that the Viewbar will have ads (and revenue) ready to go when it launches (it would not make too much sense to release a Viewbar that was not making any money). So, while the Viewbar is still on track for release this month, making the April 2nd to 16th window is getting more difficult – and, yes, the Shanghai team has been working seven days a week for quite a while now and will continue to do so until the Viewbar is released.

Before I talk about Apple, let me give you today’s Viewbar update. As mentioned previously, our delaying item is getting our partners’ ad servers to ‘talk’ correctly to the Viewbar.

Viewbar is nearly here? ... 30th April

All Members should have received an update email (I have copied it at the bottom of this post). If you are a Member and did not get an email over the weekend you need to correct this, as it is the only way to get the Viewbar notice with downloading instructions. If you did not get it, try going into your account to make sure we have a current email address on file (if it is correct and you still did not get an email, check your junk/spam folders).

Viewbar not quite ready yet .. 7th May

Viewbar quality tests are still going on. As I mentioned in the comment area of my previous post, all tests of the Viewbar have passed except for the ad servers. We had expected our testing to be finished by now, but this advertising integration is not proving easy to solve. All of us on the development team are anxious to see the Viewbar distributed to our Members, as we are now two months behind our initially planned launch date.

Well does Kumiko have some kind of supernatural powers of vision into the future or was Agloco never going to make money? Lucky for us at the Million Dollar Experiment we didn't waste any time on it! So that is one way to make a post pay off, predict the future about a controversial subject.

Number 2 - Include a Celebrity in your Article
Now the best thing is that Kumiko then backs it up - proves it was no fluke and does it again this time with an article about 6 Lessons Britney Spears Can Teach You About Blogging. What a way to launch your blog into the stratosphere with 2 great articles that gets everyone a buzzing. She may not have Britney calling her up for friendly shopping trips (with her and her mother) however its a great way to score some traffic.

Number 3 - Interview someone important and/or well known
If you interview a famous blogger or internet marketer all the bloggers are going to come a running. Here is a prime example Bloggers Face-Off: Darren Rowse vs. Jeremy Shoemoney

There we have it, 3 tried and proven methods that can help create a great article that is read by thousands instead of just another "also ran" article that may lie gathering dust for eternity. Most people like a little scandal, a bit of celebrity and few laughs. If you can roll all that into one great article you may be the next person having to buy a new server.

Make Money Fast Keyword Update

A summary and recap of our Make Money Fast Keyword Experiment
A few weeks ago I started to concentrate and optimize the keywords of my Blog towards something that would I believed at the time bring in a decent amount of Search Engine traffic. I decided to use the words "Make Money Fast" and I thought I would share with you how it is going and also recap on exactly what I did so that you can do the same if you wish to give your search engine traffic a boost.

Please use different words of course - it would be no great thing if we were all fighting over the same search space - don't worry there is plenty of other great phrases for everyone!

The initial Article related to this was Make Money Fast - An experiment in Choosing Words and was written on Friday the 13th of April of all days. Now it is almost a month later so its time to recap and see whats been happening.

The results to date
Every day when I check the search engine results I am now seeing a large number of referrals from various combinations of the Make Money Fast phrase for example today here are a few of them...you can click on them to see the Google search results.

make money in nz
how to make money with a dollar
how to earn 100 dollars fast

Well as you can see its working well and although I am nowhere on the horizon for the actual three words exactly (yet!) I am ranking well and pulling in good traffic from all kinds of similar phrases.

That's the results now if you have a Blog and are interested in doing something similar here's what you need to do..

1. Choose the phrase , best to make it 3 or 4 words
You want to choose something popular but not to popular. My favourite tool for keyword checking at the moment is this one.. http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ its very easy to use. Anyway you want to find a phrase that is regularly searched for but not to sought after. For example every man and his blog is trying to rank for "make money online" so there's probably not to much point in trying that your self.

To find out what your chances are going to be like do a search on Google for your chosen words and see what the quantity and quality of your competitors are like. This is the part that will make or break you so choose very carefully and don't be to picky. Its better to get 20 or 30 searches picking up your site and ranking on the first page than to be on page 27 of something really popular.

2. Change your Blog title to have these words at the beginning of your title
This is one of the most important places to have your keywords (along with content) so make sure these words come first.

3. Start mentioning your words often
Write posts that include the words, for example I have written articles like Make Money Fast method of the week - stuff like that is great and try and mention the words a few times in the articles that you are writing. Don't spam it though or the search engines could punish you which would not do your rankings any good at all!

4. Try and get people to link to you with the chosen words as Anchor Text
- and if you have multiple sites do this yourself.

Its 4 fairly simple steps and if you are looking at boosting the search engine traffic on your site I strongly recommend that you get into it. After 3 or 4 weeks you will start noticing results and if you do it well it can be a real boost to your traffic and your online earnings. Its ongoing as well and as you add more and more content related to your key phrase things should steadily improve.

Make Money Fast Idea of the Week

Hidden away in the dark depths of many of our Blogs are a number of articles that may be ok to read and informative however they really never made it with the search engines so were not great hits. Most of us when starting out probably didn't spend a lot of time thinking about SEO optimized titles when we wrote these and if they were a hit it was probably in some ways blind luck.

On my Job Search Blog I have been moving some old posts over to my new Wordpress Blog one at a time and reposting them with SEO optimized Titles. Basically I have been going to this site http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ typing in a keyword and using terms that are highly sought after. I really believe that long term this is going to prove very effective. Alot of my early articles had pretty lame titles that were not particularly well thought out.

Anyway suddenly the light switched on and I thought that maybe it would be a good idea to go through some of my early posts on this site and also optimize them as this could help increase search engine traffic to this site.

So to sum up go through your old posts - use Google Analytics or similar to find out which articles are not ranking well (don't mess with the ones that are!) and SEO optimize the titles as well as some of the content with high ranking keywords. That way in the months to come you will pick up a lot more search engine traffic and it will aid your quest to Make Money Fast!

Increase Search Engine Traffic by 38 Percent in One Month

During the Month of April it is no secret that I have been trying like a bat out of hell to increase the traffic to this site. A number of SEO tweaks have been done over the last month and I thought you may be interested to see in real numbers what kind of effect this has had. For a comparison I am going to show you February's Google Search referrals, then March's and then Aprils. (Bearing in mind that not much was done in the way of tweaking during March.). Something else I have noticed is that visitors that arrive via the search engines tend to convert better than your regular visitors. This means that by getting more search engine traffic to your site it should convert into higher CTR's and more money.

February we are looking at 205 Visitors over 28 days - 7.32 per day

March we had 230 Visitors over 31 days - 7.41 per day + 1.22 %

April we had 307 Visitors over 30 days - 10.23 per day + 38.05 %

In May we should get another decent rise because it is only really the last two weeks of April that things started improving. It does take time for the search engines to pick up on changes that you have incorporated and for them to re-index your site.

The MasterMoz Directory - Link site with a Difference

I love being asked to write a review on a site related to what I Blog about anyway and The MasterMoz Directory is one of those. The thing that I really like about this site is the way that links are continually checked for accurate content (i.e related to the category they have been submitted to) and also if you find a site that doesn't really fit into the category that you are in - as long as you have your facts right they will do something about it.

Heres a quote from the site to explain what I mean...

Websites that are listed on MasterMOZ, are continually monitored by the peer members of the categories they are listed in. If a listing is found to be inaccurate, the listing must be edited by the owner/author within 15 days or it will go off-line.

I decided to submit my site to the directory. Signing up for the site is easy, I like simple signup forms that don't ask for your life story and this site has an easy one. Member name, email address and password - once you have registered they send you an email to confirm you are who you say you are. One thing to be careful of is to check your spam folder - I found the confirmation email went straight in there. (I am a user of Gmail.)

Now that your account has been approved you need to locate an appropriate directory from the main page and then find the sub category that best suits your site.

For my Blog I submitted it to the Internet Blogs FAQs, Help and Tutorials category - it was just a matter of browsing to that category and then clicking on submit listing. Another great feature that I was impressed with was the feature where you just type in your web address and the system automatically picks up the title and description from your site.

Once you have entered the rest of the information about your site thats it, your site is added and you can now view it which looks like the screen shot below. There are links out to your Alexa rating, Backlinks and Visitors to the Directory can rate your site so there is also a social networking side to this directory.

Submitting your site to directorys is a great way to increase your search engine rankings, the more sites that link to you makes you more "popular" in Googles eyes. So its a good idea to submit your site to Directorys like MasterMoz.

Make Money Fast by writing "How To" Articles

In the last month or so I have written a few How To articles including...

• Blogspot Title Tags how to Remove Blog Name from the Beginning


• Setting Up an Advertising Page for your Site


• Blog Makeover - Adding another Column how hard can it be?


• The Secret of making Paid Posts less intrusive on your site

These are great for picking up search engine traffic. There are a number of Bloggers out there who are looking at improving their blogs and they will type their question into Google. If you have written an article about it chances are that your blog will show up.

Also this is a good way of working away on improving your sites, and by documenting it you can create great content at the same time.

Content = Traffic

Traffic = Money

One way to find great search engine ideas for a "How To" article is to use the Digital Point Keyword suggestion Tool and Type in "How To"

Now are you as surprised as me that 830 people a day are searching for the phrase "How to tie a tie" , I am embarrassed to admit to you how close to writing that very article I was! However even I had to admit that it would be a struggle to even distantly relate that to this website.

There are also 164 people a day asking "How to Kiss" and believe it or not 22 people a day asking "how to lose a guy in ten days" is that some kind of aspiration?

Of course with the Digital Point Keyword suggestion tool, you can also choose which country you want to search on.

When I tried the same search on Netherlands it became apparent that they have some kind of Pet Problem... why else would 21 people every day be typing in "How to clean pet urine".

When you are a Kiwi like me, we love to make fun of Australians. (also we like beating them in sport) so last but not least I wondered what Australians were looking for in the "How To" section.

Surprisingly Australians don't even seem to be asking this question except for one or 2 a day. However one question did pop up more than once a day and this was "How to last longer in Bed" !!

Blogspot Title Tags how to Remove Blog Name from the Beginning

The theory of Title Tags we are discussing applies to all websites and Blogs, we show how to fix this behaviour in the Blogger Templates, however if you use Wordpress here is a great little SEO Title Plugin that you can use.

You may have noticed that when you post an article via your blogger dashboard the default title tags append the Blog name to the front of the title. This means that if you have the title "5 ways to Make Money Fast" the actual title as the search engines see it will be...

"So what" I can hear you saying - well the facts are that search engines take the title tags very seriously indeed, and they start at the beginning with the first few words being the most important ( or supposedly most relevant ) and then it drops after that as I have illustrated below.

So as you can see we are wasting most of our prime real estate with the title of our Blog and unless you are really famous it is highly likely that any search's that are going to be relevant to your site are more likely to be picked up in the title of your actual Post so we are going to change our Blogger template so that this comes first and the Blog name second.

How to change the Blogger Template to Show title of Post before Blog name on Single Posts
We need to edit the template so head into your Blogger dashboard and click on template then edit html to get access to the code that we need to change. Once you are in there you need to follow the instructions on this post Changing the Blogger Title Tag. All it involves is cutting and pasting some new code.

It worked for me, check out how the title now sits...

How to change the Title of your Main Page
Now this may seem so obvious that its ridiculous however what are the key words that you are using in the main title of your blog... all I had was The Million Dollar Experiment Down Under. Now this was great for people searching for the "million dollar experiment", I was ranking 2nd only to Steve Pavlina for that - however not to many people really search for that on a daily basis. So I have now added the keywords that I am concentrating on to the beginning of the Title. If you look at the main title of my page now it reads Make Money Fast - The Million Dollar Experiment Down Under.
To change this yourself go into the blogger dashboard click on Settings , then Basic and simply add in your keywords to the title of your Blog.

I would advise that you give it a shot, it can only help the search engines pick up on what you are really writing about. Make sure that you back up your template first!

Submit your Site to Free Directorys - Bloggers Toolkit Series

One of the methods that I have been using recently to promote my various sites is to submit them to free directories. Now when I first started to do this I played a little bit of hit and miss as I was searching for them on Google and was often disappointed to find that not only did the site require payment, but I was probably in for a lifetime of spam as well!

Bring on Mr-SEO - I had recently been listening to a number of great pod casts regarding Search Engine Optimization and in one of his pod casts Joe mentions a directory list that he has on his site that has been built up over time. It lists directories that are free to submit your site to and they don't even require a reciprocal link.

Now you have to be very patient when doing this as it can be a time consuming task submitting your site to directories however long term it should pay off, so just get on and do it. If you have multiple sites its quite good because you can submit a number of them at at once.

I suggest starting a spreadsheet and recording which sites you have submitted to along with any other relevant information. One of my colleagues is starting at the bottom of the list and working up, I am working my way down.

Anyway heres the link if you want to go and do some work ... submit to directories some of the sites that you will be submitting to have some pretty decent page ranks. Remember its not quick, you need to submit a fair bit of info in some of the directories so put aside an hour or two and work your way through as many as you can.

The Blog Traffic Challenge - Lets get ready to Rumble!!!

On the 18th March I joined the Blog Traffic Challenge over at the Can I Make Big Money Online website. The plan is that you clearly state that you wish to double the traffic to your blog over the next 3 months and then set about achieving that goal.

Now George who instigated the challenge has managed to achieve it in 4 weeks, this is a fantastic result and should be an inspiration to the rest of the participants - who are listed on this Squidoo Page.

I decided for my own challenge that I would look at the total traffic for March, and then try and double this by June. Here is the graph of my visits in March. An average of 43.58 which isn't that great really considering the time this site has been going. (hence why I am doing this challenge!)

Below are the methods that I have been using...

Posting articles more regularly
The more articles that you post - theoretically this should convert to more numbers.

Visiting other sites more often, and leaving comments and participating in things going on.
I often say you have to give before you will receive, so following this formula I try to get around as many sites as I have time for, see whats going on and comment accordingly. Also its important to participate in challenges or memes, or whatever is going down at the time.

Doing more sponsored posts
Hah - you think I'm crazy, well not so, this blog is about making money remember, when you see this months results it will start to become apparent as to why doing more sponsored posts could help raise the traffic to this site. People want to know how much money can be made from a blog - and I plan to show them.

Time for another Technorati Boost - lets do it

Most of us had the pleasure of experiencing the boost that the Z-List gave us up the Technorati Ladder. For me personally it shot me up from about position 80,000 to around probably 20,000.

Tracking Keywords - Bloggers Toolkit Series

You may wonder why all the focus on key words lately however it is all about money really. To achieve my goal of earning one million nz dollars I need lots and lots of traffic to my sites - thousands of visitors a day.

Of course one great way to get traffic is optimizing your website or blog for popular keywords which bring us to the second part of this keyword series. You may want to read the first article before taking on this one. Keyword Selector Tool - Bloggers Toolkit Series

There is a tool that I have found to be very useful and well worthwhile for the tracking of where your site ranks over time related to certain keywords. This is good stuff for Bloggers and site owners trying to get more traffic because it means you can measure the success of changes that you make when trying to optimize your site for certain keywords.

The tool is called the Search Engine Key Word Tracker - however before you go and register for it, let me give you the lowdown.

Why would you want to use this tool?
If you are interested in optimizing your website or Blog for certain keywords and would like to track and measure how you are going a tool like this will give you the necessary visibility of where you are at on an ongoing basis.

How do you use it?
Its pretty simple to use which is good to know! Basically you wander along to Search Engine Key Word Tracker register which just takes a couple of secs and then you can log in to the control panel. From here you simply add the keywords along with the sites that you are interested in and it will display where they are currently ranked in Google.

Once you have set these up it is just a matter of working on your site to promote the words that you are interested in and you can check back whenever you like to see how its going. One thing to keep in mind is that when you log in to view this tool you need to click on the Check All link to update the information.

There are many ways of improving the ranking of your site for certain keywords and the 3 methods that I use most often are...

1/ Using the key term in anchor text of a link - if you don't know what this means it is the words shown for a link - not the actual link itself. For example great site would be the way to go if you wanted to promote these keywords for the site www.shoemoney.com which is the link behind it.

2/ Using the words in the title of the html page

3/ Including them in the text of your site, particularly as headings and/or bold text as the searchbots treat these as more important than general text.

Keyword Selector Tool - Bloggers Toolkit Series

Our Bloggers Toolkit Series continues with a look at the Wordtracker Free Keyword Selector Tool. This is not the only tool available in this area of SEO, however is certainly easy to use so here's the lowdown.

What is a Keyword Selector Tool?
These kind of tools let you type in any keywords that you like, and by going off what terms have been searched for over the previous month will give you an idea of how popular that term is. So for example if you are basing your website key words around the term "Money Blog" it is apparent that 602 searches on this term were carried out in February. If you manage to rank highly for these words, then you are going to get quite a few visits on a monthly basis. (From what I understand the Tool only queries the Yahoo database so there will actually be a lot more searches than what this tool shows you if you count Google etc - however it gives you a good idea of popularity)



Why would you want to use a Keyword Selector Tool?
This tool helps you directly identify the kind of key words that are popular. There is no point in spending time working on your site that is full of keywords and phrases that are rarely searched for - you are better of setting your sights on something popular as that is going to directly relate into improved traffic to your site. (As long as you do a better job than anyone else at optimizing your site for the words that you have in mind.)

OK now I know which Keywords I want to focus on - What do I do now?
Now that you know what words you would like to concentrate on it is a matter of fine tuning your site and the links into your site for these keywords. Also you will probably want to track the ranking of your site for these keywords both before you start optimizing - and on an ongoing basis, however that is going to be covered in the next article on this subject.

Your homework for the next few days while I prepare the next article in this series is to start finding what key words you would like to track - don't always assume that it should be the most popular that you find as there is a lot of competition for these words, find something in the middle and concentrate on building quality content around these words.

Free Blog reviews going at the Our Blog Review website

Our Blog Review is a new site run by the Hockey Crazy Greg Stratz. If you are looking at promoting your blog it can be a good idea to submit it to a site like this where it will get reviewed for free (at worst you are going to get a link to your site).

Greg has been kind enough to answer the following questions for us about his new site.

In a nutshell Greg - whats the idea behind the Blog Review site and how did you come up with it?

The Site Our Blog Review is a site where you can submit your blog or site that you want to try to create some buzz for. You submit your blog, by doing that you will get at least one link-back to your site from ours, helping out your Technorati ratings. We would like it if you mention us in your blog and or give us a return link but if you choose not to we will still gladly review your blog or site. I was just searching for blogs one day and was not happy with the "other directories" "review sites" out there so I kinda took some general idea's from some and incorporated my own. of course I think if I was able to build good websites Our blog Review would look a lot different then it does now.

How many Blogs have you reviewed to date?

Right now we have about 20 full reviews up on the site. Also all the reviews in our directory have a mini review of them as well. Right now I am working on to make it easier to find the full reviews of all the blogs we have. It might mean the elimination of the mini reviews.

What kind of traffic are you getting on the site?

Sunday's have been our most popular day so far which we get between 100-200 visitors. Friday, Saturday and Monday's Are a little behind Sunday and have been averaging 50-100 with the rest of the week days averaging 30+ visitors. But remember this site has only been up for less than a month and the average visits have increased every week so who knows what the average will be next week.

Tell us a bit about the other reviewers, how did they end up being part of your team?

The review team we have is quite unique. We have Rachel, Sid, and John helping me review the blogs we receive. Basically they found Our Blog Review and and saw that I am looking for people to help review blogs. In return right now I can offer free publicity for there own sites and link-backs to them as well.

Future plans/ideas about the site?

Right now I am working on making it easier to find the full reviews of the blogs and most likely create a list of them in there category instead of having mini reviews. Thus making it easier for people to find a blog. I would also kinda like it to morph in to a hybrid review/personal blog type site with lots of visitor participation. Possibly create a Our Blog Review store.

Some things about you Greg, where do you live whats all the fuss about hockey and what team do you play for?

I live in Vancouver Canada right now. I have duel citizenship with Australia ( by decent) As for hockey I love playing it, right now I have been getting back into it playing beer league hockey out of 8 rinks in Burnaby. Will be playing spring hockey this spring/summer for the first time so that should also be fun. I played is as a youngster till juvenile ( which is equivalent to junior B teams in the east coast ) I was too small (size wise) for the old NHL but since they changed the rules last 2 years I could have had a shot at the big time since I am extremely fast.

Focusing on your Referrers - I'm gonna spread the word on every Post!

To often in the past I have not given enough credit to the great sites that I am fortunate enough to have linking to me. These sites pump through traffic to my Blog on a consistent basis.

What I have decided to do is that every post I will include as part of my template a link to the top 5 Sites judged from traffic sent to this Blog from the previous Month. The below sites are ones that I regularly visit myself and I hope that you find them as interesting and helpful as what I do.

Can't toss in the job yet!

The Z-list has morphed into a directory style list of Blogs called Z-list 2.0, along with descriptions! This is thanks to the Customers Rock! blog, Servant Of Chaos blog and the eSoup blog where it appears they took the time to visit every blog in the z-list and add comments about each one! Thanks heaps for the effort guys what a great idea.

The Z-list has been instrumental in giving this blog a rocket up the technorati ladder, we have cracked the top 25000, previously this blog was hanging around the 80,000 mark when the z-list first kicked into gear. Some people may say that this is an unfair ranking however we have tried to spend time visiting a lot of the blogs that have been kind enough to link through to us.

Tomorrow the 130 day summary will be released - due to a lack of recent results with some of the changes that were made advertising wise I have made the decision to remove the friendfinder adverts and amazon advertising from this particular Blog, as to put it bluntly they are performing very poorly.

I have calculated that if I happened to quit my job tomorrow, I should be able to earn an income of approximately 1100 NZ dollars a month online without to much problem. (this only works out at $22 US per day!). However unfortunately I need to earn at least 4 times this much to be able to survive and pay the bills!

At some stage later in the year I may try a one off week long "money making marathon" to see how much it is possible to earn in one week, with the income sources that are now available to me. That would be interesting however obviously very time consuming. A large part of this would have to be sponsored posts, and a lot of unsponsored posts would also need to be written to provide some real content.

It is obvious from the amount of issues raised on the previous post about Content scraping that this is becoming a major problem. One of the things that is concerning about this is that even if the scraper was reported to Google or any other entity that could help, how would they decide who the original publisher of the article or content was?
